准备回国了。我和LD都持有中国护照，从没有申请过绿卡。小孩在美国出生，现在有美
国护照。
问了国内的派出所，他们说象我这样的case,小孩必须放弃美国国籍，注销美国护照，
拿到中国护照才能在国内入户口。
可是如何为小孩拿到中国的护照呢？小孩有了美国的护照，在美的中国大使馆还能给小
孩办中国护照吗？

觉得派出所说的不太合乎逻辑，小孩还小，当然国籍应该随父母的。会有谁会让小孩放
弃美国护照，等长大了来美再次重复父辈们签证的艰辛？

如果不放弃美国护照，就意味着不能有中国户口，可是在国内到处还是要有户口的，比
如小孩上学，难道海归们都送小孩到私立学校？

问问有谁知道如何解决小孩在国内的户口的问题？

大多数的派出所都不懂这种问题，只会拿中国不承认双重国籍这个原则来吓人。

象你们这样的情况，小孩申请旅行证回国。在美中国大使馆不给帮护照。

小孩回国后，拿旅行证，出生证明等可以在父母户籍所在地报户口。“放弃美国国籍，
注销美国护照”不是中国派出所管得了的事，市一级的出入境管理处是有明白人的。

不过，一旦报进户口，以后小孩（18岁前）怎么回美国会是个问题：
1. 按理应该申请中国护照，美国签证。但美国领事馆可能以小孩已是美国公民而拒签。
2. 要么申请一次性通行证出关，但这样的话，中国的户口会被注销。

所以，我的建议是，如果你们近期还想回美国，不要报户口。反之，报了户口就不要老
想着小孩是美国公民这件事了。以后的事谁说得清楚呢？

1. Go to Chinese consulate to apply for 旅行证, this is the temporary
Chinese passport.

2. Use 旅行证 to go back China. Show 旅行证 to 在父母户籍所在地报户口.

3. If your kid wants to go back USA while still keep Chinese passport in the
future, go from the third location. I.e, apply HK/SG/Japan ... visa, go to
HK/SG/Japan, then use the USA passport to go to USA.

At this point, you needn't care about your kid's 美国国籍 at all. Just try
to get the Chinese 户口 first. Chinese 户口 is very important for your
family. Many couples gave birth to kids in USA then return to China. Think
about those J1/J2...Chinese officers....They have the right to get Chinese
户口.

You kid was born in USA is definitely not an issue at all. There is policy
that he can get Chinese 户口 if you haven't got your Permanent Residency yet.

As to the USA passport, no worry at all. Whenever your kid wants, he/she can
apply, just show the birth certificate.

There is a famous case, a Chinese officer was born in USA around 1960s, then
went back China for many years. In 1990s, he went to USA for conference
travel. Provided the birth certificate, got USA passport, then stayed at USA
.

Many people in this board are young BS/MS F1 students. You should go to Next
generation board to know more about this issue.

Why so many people think that, if your kid was born in USA, then he/she can
not get Chinese 户口??? How about those ambassadors' kids, J1/J2's kids,
oversea construction engineers' kids, oversea Chinese companies' kids,
sailor's family's kids, born during travel's kids....? ?

You are Chinese without PR, you have the lawful right to get a Chinese 户口
kid, wherever he/she was born. That is the answer.
